The Great Centenary Balloon Race – Winner!

As you may already know from our previous news story, the team here at Naylor Wintersgill continued our year-long centenary celebrations by holding a charity balloon race on the 8th June 2017.

After gathering in the rain to release the 100 balloons from our offices, we were very pleased to confirm that donations towards the release of each of the balloons managed to raise over £800 for our chosen charity of the year, The Bradford Soup Run – a local charity who work towards making the plight of Bradford’s homeless less difficult.

Long standing Naylor Wintersgill client Bradford Rubber Services Limited very kindly offered to donate a prize of a Samsung Galaxy Tab Tablet for the balloon that was found to have travelled the furthest by the closing date.

We were delighted to be able to announce our winner at our centenary Yorkshire Day celebrations on 28th July 2017 and we would like to congratulate Bill and Heather Hurst from Phoenix Fixings Limited – another long standing Naylor Wintersgill client for scooping the prize!

Their balloon was found to have travelled the furthest ‘as the crow flies’ to a location in Menston in Ilkley – not the far flung destination we had hoped for but the Yorkshire drizzle on the day may have thwarted our balloons slightly!

The Great Centenary Balloon Race forms part of a year-long centenary of success celebrations as we mark 100 years of providing business, accounting and taxation services in Bradford.
